Being Mom

With Mother's Day just around the corner I wanted to make something special for my mom. Most little girls love to dress up in their mother's shoes and hats. When I was a girl I was no different. My mother once was awakened by a knock on the door very early in the morning when I was just a toddler. Apparently the neighbours had looked out the window to see me walking up and down the street in my mother's red high heels and nothing else! Well, Annabelle is wearing a bit more than her Birthday Suit with her mom's red high heels, but I am quite sure her mom is charmed all the same.

April Showers

We've certainly had our fair share of rain this spring over here in England. Annabelle is more than ready for it with her lovely yellow mac and rubber boots, not to mention her pretty red umbrella. I just love polka dots, don't you??? . Her ducky friends are quite enjoying joining her for a walk in the spring rain.
Prints are for sale now in my Etsy Shop

Flowers for Mama

What child doesn't present their mama with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from time to time. It matters not that they are dandelions. A mother's love sees them all the same. A rose by any other name smells as sweet.

Stop and Smell the Flowers

Life gets so busy. This is a timely reminder that we must not forget to stop and smell the flowers once in a while.

She Always Wanted a Pet

What little girl doesn't dream of having a pet of her very own. Annabelle has longed for one for a very long time. Finally she decides to gather a hen from the family pen for her very own. This reluctant bird is the pet she always wanted.

When in Doubt, Eat Cake

As a young girl I would have liked nothing more than to be allowed to bake a cake in my mother's kitchen. Sadly that was not my mother's cup of tea. I get to bake plenty of cakes now in my own kitchen and I am quite happy to share my skills and stove with any friend, young or old, that is happy to share them with me.

I love this little girl I painted with her little black friend sitting at her feet, ever hopeful at lapping up the crumbs from her sweet mistress's creation.
